Pregnant women and newborns in Gaza are facing an increasingly severe maternity and neonatal health crisis, driven by prolonged restrictions on humanitarian access and shortages of essential medical supplies.

A recent public letter signed by over 100 prominent mothers from the UK and Ireland has called on the British Government to take tangible action to address the deteriorating conditions facing women and children in Gaza. The letter highlights rising infant mortality rates, the lack of access to safe childbirth services, and the continued blocking of life-saving humanitarian assistance.

In partnership with Medics Worldwide, Palestine Aid has supported the preparation and mobilisation of mobile maternity clinics currently positioned in Egypt, ready to provide urgent maternal and neonatal care in Gaza once access is granted.

These mobile clinics are designed to deliver:

• Safe childbirth services

• Emergency obstetric care

• Post-natal and newborn support

Despite being fully equipped and operationally ready, the clinics remain unable to enter Gaza due to ongoing access restrictions.

Palestine Aid continues to advocate for:

• The safe and unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid

• Protection of women, children, and medical personnel

• Humanitarian access in line with international humanitarian law and principles
