ABOUT PA
Our origin can be traced back to the aftermath of the Gaza War in 2008
OUR INCEPTION
The origins of Palestine Aid can be traced back to the aftermath of the Gaza War in 2008, also known as Operation Cast Lead, a devastating conflict that lasted for over three weeks and tragically claimed the lives of more than 1,400 Palestinian civilians. The war left a severe trail of destruction, with more than 46,000 homes damaged or destroyed and over 100,000 people displaced.
In response to this urgent humanitarian crisis, a determined group of volunteers mobilised quickly, raising over £1 million in aid in under four weeks. This remarkable effort led to the launch of the first convoy, consisting of 110 medical vehicles carrying vital supplies for Gaza.
Upon their return, these dedicated volunteers continued working with international charities and humanitarian partners, eventually uniting with like-minded individuals to formally establish Palestine Aid.
Palestine Aid, the working name of Filastin Aid, became officially registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in England and Wales on 01 August 2025, under charity number 1214389. This marked an important milestone in the organisation’s development and strengthened its commitment to delivering vital front-line support to Palestinian communities in need.
